About the Study

We are evaluating AI-generated synonyms to improve vocabulary learning systems. You will read 15 sentences, each with a blank space, and rate 4 candidate words on a scale of 1 (Very inappropriate) to 5 (Very appropriate).

Key Information

• Eligibility: 18+ years old and a native speaker of the target language.
• Time & Reward: Approximately 15–20 minutes. Compensation is processed via Prolific.
• Privacy: Your responses are strictly anonymous. Data will be stored securely for 10 years after the research concludes.
• Voluntary: Participation is completely voluntary. You may withdraw at any time by closing your browser window without penalty.

About the study

We are collecting ratings to build a future CAT (Computer-Adaptive Test) for English. Your responses will be used to estimate item properties such as difficulty and discrimination.

• Time: Approximately 15 minutes.
• Prolific: This study is conducted via Prolific. You will be asked to provide your Prolific ID at the end for payment verification.
• Privacy: Your responses will be stored securely. Your Prolific ID is used only for payment verification.
• Note: Your English test information is used for research analysis and does not affect your payment.
